MCUL Outstanding Credit Union of the Year Award
This award recognizes a credit union for innovation and outstanding contributions in financial education for members and within the community in 2023. For innovation, MSGCU was recognized for service improvements launched to help members achieve financial success including Member Fast Cash, our Online Referral Program, QuickPay, Credit Score, and our Digital Branch. For financial education, in addition to the individual counseling that occurs in each of our branches, nearly 21,000 individuals received MSGCU financial education through in-person and online learning environments.

Top Workplace and Top Workplace USA Awards
MSGCU was named a Top Workplace by the Detroit Free Press for the 12th consecutive year. Results are based on a team member survey conducted by Energage. Companies are measured on qualities, including company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, compensation, and benefits. Additionally, MSGCU earned national recognition for the third year in a row as a Top Workplaces USA.

High Member Satisfaction for 2+ Decades.
Members awarded MSGCU with a 97% satisfaction rate in the 2024 Member Survey. MSGCU continually earns high member satisfaction ratings, scoring 95% or higher for more than twenty years as measured by D. Hilton & Associates.

Callahan Return of the Member Scoring (ROM)
ROM is a scoring system exclusive to Callahan that shows how much value a credit union is delivering to members compared to their peers. According to December 2023 Callahan data, MSGCU ranks #10 putting us in the top 99.8% of credit unions in the nation. The system uses data to measure value in three categories: savings, lending, and product usage. ​

Forbes 2024 Best Credit Unions in Each State
In a Forbes ranking of the best credit unions in each state, MSGCU is one of only 207 out of approximately 4,600 credit unions nationwide that made the list. Of the 192 total credit unions in Michigan, MSGCU is one of 10 recognized. Rankings are based on survey input from approximately 31,000 U.S. residents on criteria such as customer service, the quality of financial advice, whether fees are transparent and reasonable, ease of navigating the website, on-location branch services, and the overall level of trust the companies inspired.

Newsweek - America's Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions
MSGCU was one of 500 credit unions out of approximately 4,600 nationwide to be recognized on Newsweek's America's Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions list.
Newsweek utilized the Texas Ratio (a measure of a financial institution's credit quality), profitability, net loans and leases, and media monitoring, combined with an elaborate large-scale independent customer survey of more than 71,000 U.S. citizens, 1.9 million social media reviews, and 129 million Apple App store and Google Play store reviews, to create the list. MSGCU was honored with 4 out of 5 stars in this ranking.

Based on results from Gallagher’s 2023 U.S. Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey, which ranks organizations based on how they support the physical, emotional, career, and financial wellbeing of their employees, MSGCU stood out as an organization committed to our people and strategic approach to benefits, HR, and compensation.
