In The Community
MSGCU is proud to support community initiatives through sponsorships, donations, and actively participating in beneficial programs. In 2024, we continued to provide much needed support in our communities while leveraging opportunities to highlight the benefits of being an MSGCU member. Here are a few examples:
National Police Appreciation Week
To recognize and honor our first responders, MSGCU celebrated National Police Awareness Week at our branches and in our communities. Gift baskets were delivered to police departments in our branch footprint.

Teacher Appreciation Week
MSGCU also recognized and celebrated our educational partners with special deliveries from Branch Managers and Business Development team members. Teachers with whom we have relationships and schools where we seek to build relationships received gift baskets during Teacher Appreciation Week.

CU Lunch Local
As part of an industry-wide movement, MSGCU team members participated in CU Lunch Local, which promotes all of the good things credit unions do to help local businesses thrive. In October, teams purchased lunches from their favorite locally-owned eateries, equating to more than $4,342 contributed across 54 restaurants.

Member Appreciation & Free Paper Shredding
Once again, MSGCU celebrated October's Member Appreciation Day by providing members with free paper shredding, refreshments, and a small gift. Shred Day was held at four branch locations to accommodate our growing geographic area and make it more convenient for members to dispose of their sensitive documents.

Appreciation Luncheons
To show our gratitude to community partners, we held the East and West Appreciation Luncheons in December. It was a great opportunity to highlight MSGCU's accomplishments and engage with key influencers in the communities we serve.

Shop Local, Bank Local
To continue to build awareness in our new markets, the Shop Local, Bank Local event took place around our Ann Arbor and Saline branches in June. MSGCU partnered with local businesses to provide their customers a chance to win prizes. Participants were encouraged to visit our branches to enter a raffle and take advantage of MSGCU special offers. Efforts resulted in 19 new memberships, generated $409K in loan balances and $1M in CD balances, and allowed us to build new relationships.

Ann Arbor Bicentennial
MSGCU was represented on the Bicentennial planning committee which provided regular interaction with community leaders, city leaders, and the City Administrator. Additionally, MSGCU sponsored the closing program.
